About 2 Hour Drive
The year was 2001 and two bright eyed musicians were attending Visible School of Worship in Memphis, TN. Tim Yordy was a vocal major and Joe Quatrone was a guitar major. During their time at the music school, they only talked to each other once and what sparked from that one conversation was… nothing. Tim and Joe never talked again for nine more years.
By the spring of 2010, both of them were working as solo artists and had reconnected through mutual friends on Facebook. Joe posted a comment about needing a new vocalist and Tim responded. They swapped audio files back and forth through email and the result of this collaboration was a heartfelt song named “Paradise.”
2 Hour Drive is simply 2 friends who live 2 hours apart. Tim Yordy is the singer; Joe Quatrone is the instrumentalist. They record all the music separately in their home recording studios. Joe records the instruments first and then emails the song to Tim who in return records the vocals and then emails the song back to Joe.
About Tim
Tim's interest in music started when he was 15 years old. Throughout his childhood music beyond a small number of Christian adult-contemporary artists was something that was off limits. At the age of 15 however his access to the world of music beyond broadened greatly. A strong desire to be a songwriter grew immediately. It would be two more years though before he started playing guitar. At the age of 18 then Tim joined the band Owned and Operated as their bass player. "I spent 8 months with Owned and Operated and I wasn't necessarily the best bass player in the world but it was a great learning experience," Tim recalls.
Later, in 2001 Tim attended Visible Music School in Tennessee as a vocal major. "Even though I had spent some time in a band and played in church worship groups, my main thought was still on songwriting. Trying to be a songwriter when you can't sing, doesn't work out very well. In fact my singing was so bad that on two different occasions school staff talked to me about changing my major." Perseverance eventually paid off for Tim though and today he only sings half as bad as he did back then.
Between 2004 and 2006 Tim was the co-lead singer and guitar player for the pop/punk band CrewmanNumber7. During their two years together the band recorded a 5 song EP with Grammy winning producer Barry Blair (Audio Adrenaline, Bleach), played a fair amount of shows and enjoyed a strong local following.
Tim was also starting a family at this time and from the second half of 2006 until the beginning of 2010, Tim operated as a solo artist releasing an EP entitled Watching the Ships and a handful of individual songs.
About Joe
God gifted Joe to play piano at the age of 5, drums at 11, guitar at 12, and bass at 13. He is entirely self-taught except for two years when he was a young child and six months when he attended Visible School of Worship.
In 1996, Joe formed a band in his youth group and covered the DC Talk song “Jesus Freak” at his church. After their initial show, they performed Christian parodies of secular rock songs from the 90’s era.
In 1999, Joe was asked to play drums in the ska band Southbound that performed at Warped Tour in Asbury Park, NJ. It was fun, but after a few months, Joe decided he would no longer play music unless it was Christian.
In 2000, Joe played guitar and sang backup vocals in the Christian praise band Spirit Force at Messiah College in Grantham, PA.
In 2001, Joe transferred to Visible School of Worship in Memphis, TN where he was the guitarist and lead singer for the Christian rock band Reign On Me. His band had record label exposure from Ardent Records, but Joe quit after six months pursuing a family and the pastorate.

Love hearing the acoustics of Paradise. The words and harmonies are excellent and the chorus definitely gives comfort in a cold world. Great message and musicianship. Peace be with you and God Speed!! Adam Lee Howell |

Nice, driving rock and roll tunes with an old-school sensibility and modern rock edge. Really dig this. |
